Grad school is totally kicking my ass. I am still alive but barely :)

Thing that annoys me most about this book now I am re-reading it 10 years after I first read it? The fact that the flow of the plot is weird.

The purple prose has grown on me.

Also Mafi dedicates this to her husband...has she been married twice? Because this was released in 2011 and she married Ransom Riggs in 2013...little confused by that.

Do you know what would have been super helpful? Knowing what myths these stories were retelling because I have no idea and I kinda want to read the originals so I can compare.

My class had NO required textbooks listed and now I find out I have to get three textbooks for a class that has already started and lasts only 4 weeks.

This is a choice out of 10 books and the other 2 are required texts. This is the only one of the books, both optional and required, that will arrive on time.

When you are up for a promotion and you think "Maybe I will get a little extra money with this promotion"...and then they call and tell you they want you for the promotion and the salary will be......$20,000 less than what you make now. What to do? What to do?

The decision is so hard to make *sarcasm* Like anyone would take on more work for significantly less pay.

So I just met a friend's 3 year old through Skype and he goes to me:

"Gender is something the bathroom company came up with to sell more bathrooms"

I used to work at a store that had two toilets, one was labeled Ladies the other Gents. They were identical, just mirror images of each other.

There was always a line for the Ladies so the employees just used the Gents. One time a little old lady was waiting in line, asked the lady in front if she minded her skipping the line to use the Gents. The lady went "But you are a lady you can't use the Gents"

I have made it to page 20! This is so good but taking so long to read because my French is so very very bad.

But that is what dictionaries are for.

Friend ordered a boxset of The Witcher books, received a book that shall not be named by she who should not be named, with an entire letter about why he is a bad person for purchasing the book that shall not be named...he doesn't want to lose someone their job but he wants his boxset of The Witcher and the letter is glued to the front of the book so he has to return it like that.

There are more than two genders: there is male, female, and a whole heap of genders that don't fall into the "binary"

There are more than two sexes: there is Male (XY), Female (XX), XXY, XXYY, XXX, X, XXXYY, XXXYYY, and a many more that would take this entire comment box and then some to list. My last count was 40, and out of that 40, about 15 of them will create a living being, the others will not. = No binary

Sometimes I wish authors would just keep their mouths shut.

I can forgive on bad comment, because maybe it was out of context, but more...I cannot forgive because it can no longer be out of context, it is real.

On the other hand knowing that they think these things and think sharing that vitriol with the world is okay allows me to cut them out of my life, even if it hurts.

Another one bites the dust.

Friend: Star Trek Discovery says Season 3 will have the first Non-Binary character in Star Trek History and first trans character too.

Me: Cool.

Friend: They forgot TNG and DS9 already did both those things.

Story 1 down: That were crap.

re-reading so I can review each story seperately.

I'd forgotten how choppy this was. Why did I give it 4 stars, at this point I am thinking 3 stars would be a better rating.

It is not bad, it is good and engaging but I just feel a bit blah right now.

Re-reading as Blood and Honey just arrived and I have forgotten what happened in this one.

The film version of this destroyed me. The actor who plays Rasmus is now in Young Wallander. I have tissues, vodka, and my neighbour's cat (I'm cat sitting) for when this all goes to hell in 800 or so pages.

I could only find this in French instead of the original Swedish. The original books were a trilogy released separately, this is like an omnibus of all three books.This is going to take me a while to read my French isn't stellar, I would have preferred Swedish as my husband speaks it and could help me when I stumble. French was not either of our favorite subjects, I had a bad teacher, so this is gonna be fun.

I am unsure about this one.

I love Del. She is such a strong character and a kick ass fighter.

This is half trashy romance, half fun fantasy story. I'd forgotten how much I actually liked the story of this world and the characters.

Trashy romance is just an added bonus =)

I spilt coffee on this book. Now it smells like Dark Roast and is a bit damp.

My kid laughed at me.

I stole the kid's hairdryer to dry the book =)

Please pick up a bit, this is a little slow so far.
