I *am* enjoying the book so far but some of the lascivious jokes are so graphic and abrupt that I'm instantly repulsed

Atrocious, lazy info dump within the first 4 paragraphs--- a new record!!

I will *actually* dnf this time if it's bad enough

1) I didn't know this was supposed to be so romance leaning. Expectations have plummeted and still I fear they will remain unmet
2) This is supposed to be ADULT? FOR adults? Targeted TO adults?? For an ADULT to read with their ADULT eyes and brain??? Could've fooled me

Even if I end up hating this book, at least there's pretty fanart of the pretty boy. I'm swooning 😚

I can’t tell if I’m enjoying this book because it’s actually good or if it’s just such a marked improvement from the original fanfiction that it exceeds my original (very very low) expectations

trying to separate my negative feelings toward the fanfiction from this book so i can assess it as it's own work but i'm just such a negative nelly meanie

It should come at no surprise but this book is very dumb.

Wanted to do a complete 180 from my last read as well as reduce my tbr, and the title of this is ridiculous enough to set my expectations very, very low (a good thing!)

Yet still it manages to draw out a visceral "UGH. EW." within the first 2% by starting the chapter off with "Washington D.C." 🥲

i've held back the bulk of my criticisms until now because i'm certain most of them are spurred by me being unreasonably mean but the same issue is popping up so much i think i can solidly say it's the writing and not my bias: worldbuilding is so-so. literally every time a new word is used, it launches into an explanation that feels loose and clunky

This book is stupid. and ridiculous. and cringe. and very very very entertaining.
