I have SUCH nostalgia for these books even though I never read them. When all the hype was about I remember watching all the videos about it omgg I wanted to read it so bad. FINALLY got around to starting the series yay!!

definitely hooked. kind of made up my mind that I do agree to this book being a modern classic. a blueprint for sure that has influenced the literary world. and whether you like the book or not or think it’s badly written that is just a fact. we wouldn’t have the dark academia genre at least as we know it today without the secret history. even a movie like Saltburn has clear inspirations from this book.

I just updated but had to again coz 😨😨 the audacity of bunny like so freaking shady. At this point I’m munching popcorn & sipping tea. Not the incest jabs and like digging so hard to find holes in Richard’s lies. Only thing missing was rattlesnake sound effects for real.

Bunny’s accent I vacillate between loving and hating. There was points I was like he deserves to die just for how grating it is to listen. But lowkey brings levity.

Would like to make it known I’m a Bunny is bisexual truther. That is one of the cattiest most annoying people I have ever read (in a good way). Bro was mad about being left out of a Bacchanalia sex party with 3 boys and a girl so you do the math.

Richard has resting bitch face and I high key love that for him.

This book is kind of controversial in my opinion because it’s considered a ‘modern classic’ but so many people also are not about that whatsoever. Wanted to read this for so long to see where I landed but finally got around to it. I love dark academia & Donna Tartt but keeping low expectations.

wowie this point “catches up” to the end of s1 silo. can definitely see how people say that shoe is dragged out haha. anyways it is a very well paced book. the shipping so far IS on point yes Jahns x Marnes is top of the list and their love story is so much better in the book. but also… not Lukas and Jules ong it’s too adorable. plus he didn’t lie to her about having to take care of his sick mom in the book

so biggest change so far is deputy Marnes death. In the book he unalives himself while in the show he was killed. although they did a fake out moment that had me thinking he was going to unalive in the show so definitely a reference. anyways i do think i like the book take on it better it’s very Romeo and Juliet. and protagonist name is Juliette soz

just binged the show silo, had to read the book series it was based off. so far it’s pretty similar other than a few characters, for example Walker is a man in the books whereas in the show she’s a woman. anyways nothing too major yet. from my research before starting to read the show diverges at a certain point so looking forward to that.

the movie was such a sparksnotes version of the book so far. i love the insight into nick’s mom circle and the stuff with eddie and Astrid esp 🤌🏼❤️
