Ruby Dixon has said the mc is “juggling her cat” literally 4 times in 2 pages. What does that even mean. The weirdness of the phrase is distracting Stop juggling that cat, girl

Oh boy, this is awful

With the whole premise of this book being “Van Helsing’s daughter pursues a vampire serial killer,” it feels kind of crazy to take HALF THE BOOK for her to find out vampires/monsters are actually real. Like that should’ve been case #1

Ok this is SUCH a fall book but unfortunately I’m loving it too much to table it until the appropriate season

Heather Fawcett kinda owns the annoyance to lovers trope now

I swear I don’t hate this book even though I’m probably making it seem like I do. I like the supernatural/occult elements and the dual timelines a lot
