I bought this book after signing up for Emily Bingham's workshop at the Kentucky Women Writers Conference coming up in September. But it's hard getting into. I find I don't really care about the Binghams, and I have a hard time keeping all the different generations straight.

"The special combination of alluring language and light logic can come together and, without any justification, can turn scientific speculation into proof of the existence of gods." Pot - kettle - black. Maisel's natural psychology seems itself to be a combination of alluring language and light logic.

I checked this ebook out of the library, partly because it was recommended to me & partly because it was available & all the other books I wanted weren't. It's a frustrating little book in some ways. While I find some of it helpful, it often just skims the surface, never getting to the heart of it. Maybe that's the result of the author having written 45 other books and three meditation decks. Quantity over quality.

I saw this book when I was reading Stephen Fry's autobiography, and I added it to my wish list. My friend Tim bought it for me. It's pretty slow going because periodically Fry insists you not go any further until you've done a poetry exercise which can take up to 45 min. to complete. I do find the exercises helpful. I hate to admit it, but I've never understood meter. The exercises help.

I love this book so much! It's the best new book I've read in years.
