I don’t understand the attraction between the two.
The author never really explains it beside it being love at first sight, which is boring.

Also now the MMC is having a whole side plot about how he’s finally being treated as a labourer and seeing what it’s like for the poors™, and it seems so odd and out of place. At no point before this was his ignorance of common folk a point of conflict in the story.

Right off the bat, the writing seemed amateur and I began suspecting this was self-published. The author seems to be ignorant of some basic principles of effective writing.

I looked it up and my suspicions were confirmed.

I’ll continue to read and hope I can turn off the writer part of my brain and enjoy the book, instead of mentally correcting the flaws the whole way through.

God it’s so childishly written it feels like a wattpad fic. Only 4% in and there’s already racism/colourism

1/4 of the way through and so far there’s no grovelling/male suffering like the reviews led me to believe. The H better go through some serious angst soon, I feel lied to

Amy is annoying, selfish, and stupid. Her actions go beyond what can be explained by just having cabin fever

Like there’s no redeeming qualities about her. Her “plan” makes absolutely no sense if she didn’t have a plan for actually meeting the dragon

The “not like other girls” syndrome is soooo cringey

freyrik has weirdly overactive caretaking instincts. seems very out of character for a prince. someone raised as royalty from birth wouldn’t be so worried about tending the wounds of an enemy themselves when there’s a house full of servants to do it.

so much of this is nonsensical and unrealistic. in what world would an army commander (the prince) just instantly lust over an enemy captive who took out several of his men? surely he’d have bigger concerns at first??? feels very insta-love to me :/

the “interrogation” was probably the worst way to tell the readers the backstory. it felt out of place and unnatural. that’s not how interrogations work lmao.

what the fuck is feyres damage? she gets a little bit of power and all of a sudden she’s acting cruel and unkindly to her friends, people who treat her like family?

feyre’s mood swings are giving me whiplash.

so far every description of the night court makes it sound like a mix of the middle east and south asia. basically like agrabah

the constant smell of jasmine, the harem pants, the light, billowy clothes, the emphasis on tea

i totally called rhys showing up and interrupting the wedding. reminds me of maleficent in sleeping beauty during the baby shower lol.

i’m trying to be understanding but every character is annoying me right now, including feyre.

how blind is tamlin that he doesn’t realize how miserable his fiancé is? why did they rush into a marriage when she has clearly has PTSD

So excited to finally start this, I’ve heard really good things about it!

holy shit i've barely started and already i've got a bad feeling. this feels like what an elementary school kid would write. right off the bat everything feels overly exaggerated, like the author has no real world experience and bases her writing off cartoons.
