This book is the epitome of what is wrong with men. These pitiful, cloying measures to be king of the mountain. The rueful jabs, demanding the world owe them more than what they already are born into. And the women, quiet in the background, caretakers who dare to be bored of sex with these imaginary oligarchs.

Nearing the end, friends in old bodies still believing them to be young bodies. Contemplating life, how none of it matters and all of it matters. Each act a thing of mercy and destruction. This book is ripping me apart.

the progression of time is done so beautifully. I can feel the summer's warmth on my skin, time slipping away under the trees' canopy.

Finding this main character..unmotivating. There are so few character clues that she seems uninteresting.

When tragedy is all around, it takes a mama to change the story to a happy ending. The happiness is in finding contentment where we end up, a home where one is needed.

"It's easer to see the beginnings of things, and harder to see the ends." At pg 50, I think this will be about trying to find the ends, the exact moment things end to explain the why.

A kinder editor, maybe, would have suggested a thesaurus for "disorientating."
