Yikes these are some complicated politics.

It’s a lotta words in each chapter but thus far this all that they mean. Like each chapter has a theme.

The narrator is doing a good job and the writing is getting the fear across. I just also zoned out a few times and didn’t miss anything.

Bring on the anxiety through audiobook!

Ryan is kinda a himbo and I love him. He's a golden retriever fr with so much joy, but he's been forced into a darker, quieter persona for so long. It's lovely seeing him come into himself.

Wow how ghastly, he had to make his own tea! lol

NGL her not breaking up with her abusive boyfriend is getting soooo annoying. I get that it's hard and I'm trying to be understanding, but UGH.

I have the hardest time reading books that have such a huge sense of hopelessness. Just ugh.

Gideon is oddly animalistic internally for a contemporary book. His "inner beast" is always gnashing it's teeth and calling Kendra it's "mate" like girl if you wanted to write a one you should have done it haha.

Trying so hard not to cry, but this is so sweet and heartbreaking and healing.

This is so quirky, I'm loving it.
All I need are my PJs, a fluffy blanket, and some hot tea.

It's been a week, but I'm back to reading this. I'll listen to the audiobook as well to help get through it.

UGH is this where the "woe is me will work/our lives keep us apart" angst comes in because I'd 100% be okay with that NOT happening. Please let this be the one time they talk out their options like adults.

Started listening to this on my way home from work last night and then switched to the ebook when I got home. Somehow already halfway through????
*sigh* I'm definitely going to have to look for another audiobook because I don't think I can stop myself from reading this throughout the day.

The fact that Rune believes Cressida to have been good after seeing Gideon still afraid of her even though she's dead AND --most importantly here-- knowing her best friend, Alex, KILLED Cressida even though he helps rescue other witches is truly baffling.
The secrets around this are really tripping me up tbh.

Honestly, no idea why I'm not clicking with this one...

Look, my goal is to make it to Part 3 today (about 15% more), but I seem to be incapable of finding time to read this from more than 15-30 minutes at a time! It is making this book feel RIDICULOUSLY long. Maybe I need to switch to audio or something ugh.

How is it I feel like I made major progress in the book and it's only 10% more??? haha.
