Dara is a complicated character -- they all are honestly -- and as much as I hate his actions and all the people he so easily kills, I can't help but root for him, hoping he will be redeemed and learn from these horrid mistakes.

Slowly, ever so slowly I am making progress on this, but I truly am loving it. I just don't want to read more than 2-4 chapters at a time haha. That's alright. It feels like I'm savoring it.

This writing is beautiful and I'm enjoying this book so much, but damn it hurts to read. I just feel like that woman screaming "we were rooting for you!" while pointing at Dara and simultaneously wanting to protect Ali and Nahri from the pain to come.
