ngl i find book dexter pretty annoying and jeff lindsay deosnt understand dexter in his core i feel. he has created something beautiful but he doesnt know how to care for the said beautiful thing. alas

addicted to say the least

i was reading this back when i was still in school but for some reason i dropped it or simply forgot to come back to it. a very vague yet distinct memory of a brit guy trying to track down a ghost came to me and i google and the ai overview (yeah sucks ass but this one time) it helped me out. i found a long lost friend. chills! i was in school almost 7 years ago

i think i should give up on the YA genre as a whole ts too corny for me. beautiful premise but i cannot do awkward teenagers who think they're very important and they're shouldering big responsibilities. it makes me nervous and annoyed!!!! pls just do ur homework and go to bed pls

some writing traits make it clear that the audience was mostly supposed to be teenagers (eg, cliched topics of how eyes looked like a mix hazel and green and blue and whatnot, and silly first loves which are cute but maybeeee slightly overdone) but the premise otherwise is engaging. my fear of reading YA stems from me finding the main character childish but that doesnt seem to happen here thankfully

im saddened to realise that i dont like the writing. i expected beautiful prose. this is okay prose. i expected layered characters. everyone here is plain, vain, lowkey boring. and maybe bc im reading it so late, this specific nano-genre of "girl shunned by all has some magical abilities" has been done quite a no. of times within the past few years. so.

im exhausted. started out promising but idk what im looking at anymore maybe should be more concise

on other news ive convinced mother to read superman comics (yes, like the og golden age comics) i think ive accomplished everything

i found u at a very interesting time of my life where everyone around me is either terrible sick or on the verge of death, or has died

listen i am already saying this beforehand. this book is not for me i am deeply unsettled by the premise of this book and not in an enjoyable way. the author keeps reminding us just how gratingly unfair a system can be and turns out theres absolutely nothing u can do abt it. i understand dystopia but holy hell this harrassment prisoner situation is. not for everyone.

can someone pls rell me whether theres a haly ending or should i start preparing glass shards already?

till now it reads like how you would imagine the girl with a soft core, niche, private, twitter handle would post like. or talk/think like. that is not necessarily bad but its pretty common and guess-able. so
then again, its pretty early on. one thing is, its immersive. and u should always judge a book by its cover because LOOK at this beauty. stunner. in love.
