Almost done with it and I just haven't really been convinced of the romance - Issaky isn't really given any pov, so I don't really know why he likes Ellis. Ellis obviously has stuff going on with his mom, autism, etc, but the dead dad and mom stuff haven't really been threaded throughout. So I don't really know the stakes or why he even still lives with his mom. Or why/how is Issaky rich at such a young age?

Anthony low-key reads as abusive with how Sven has to walk on eggshells around him and I'm pretty sure that is not intentional lol

I'd probably be enjoying this a bit more if i could read it uninterrupted, but it's mostly bland so far? Typically you can read romance novels out of order but there might be vibe stuff I'm not getting bc I haven't. They also just kinda of get along too well so when there is friction it's a bit... unbelievable. I prefer third person writing but this this lacking too much interiority.

I really liked her insight looking back on being dubbed the joke cop for stating how shitty rape jokes in the early aughts were, especially as time has shown how shitty these comedians are irl. It sucks that this is juxtaposed with her super shitty marriage. Like, Lindy, girl, just leave him. Or date Roya. You don't need your husband.
