Yay I did it! What an amazing book. Truly one of my favorites. I will have to buy my own copy for annotations and notes. I HIGHLY recommend this book. A more thorough review to come.

Ariel is 30% done with The Home Place: Memoirs of a Colored Man's Love Affair with Nature

DNF - got this far in and I gave up for the same reasons other reviewers were critical: just too much flowery prose. I want to continue this again and will hopefully stick it out to when others said it became more interesting. Probably a solid 2 star rating in the beginning.
