I'm having a really hard time taking these characters seriously. Salem reads like a thirteen year old and her relationship with her boyfriend feels even more chaste and juvenile. There has been some hints about sexual abuse in her past so it kind of makes sense, but either way it makes the thing with Thayer come across as really off.

I've liked this book despite some character and plot tropes that I don't really care for. But the twist right here is beyond what I find tolerable.

The way that this author keeps using italics for emphasis really annoys me. It feels like she's trying to mask bad writing.

Abortion. That seems like a pretty good option that for some strange reason isn't on the table.

This reads like an author's self insert, fanfic starring themselves. Awkward.
