The Night Stair 🧛‍♀️🧛‍♂️🧛🧛‍♂️🧛, I liked Adlisa. Revenge for her sisters. Revenge has been the driving factor in these stories so far. And vampires! I hadn‘t expected that. I thought we would firmly stay in the world of witches. Sneaky, courageous girl. Maybe we will meet again?

Edmund, the Derwish and two more now. The found family is fabulous again.

Having light Expanse vibes. Plus tentacles.

Too many indistinguishable characters and a barely there plot. This did not work for me at all as audiobook. At some point, I should probably try this as a print version.

- By My Voice I Shall Be Known 🪡🪡🪡☆☆, another revenge story. Unsatisfactory ending.
- The Undone and the Divine 👻👻👻👻☆, this ghost story I liked! It is also very nicely, how each story builds on the previous one.

It was ok. Too many info dumps for such a short novella, on the plot and the characters. Giving lots of emotionless details on someone does not give them depth.

Definitely an in-between filler that needs the first full novel to make sense. We experience how Jonad and Mac become partners in the Tabak Institute and how they settle Angel into her enclosure. Yes, there is a body count.

- The Burnt Moon 🐀🐀🐀☆☆, another story featuring rape. I am so fed up with that. Still, this story had a great ending. Vengeance is sweet.

“It’s all right now, Fitz. You’re whole again. This time, when we go back, you’ll go all the way back to your old life. All of it.”

Slowly moving towards the resolution of this trilogy. This is such a good book!

- The Coffin-Maker’s Daughter ☠️☠️☠️☠️☆, a wickedly evil little story.
- The Maiden in the Ice 🌳🌳🌳☆☆, this was grim. I could have done without the rape.
- The Badger Bride, 🦡🦡🦡🦡🦡, Gytha is copying a mysterious book that gives her the shivers. And then there is that badger… Great fairytale with a satisfying ending. Made me smile.

“Me transmitte sursum, Caledoni,” she murmured. Too bad Scotty wasn’t around to beam them to safety. There was something about the heavy atmosphere that was frightening.

I have the memory of a goldfish. I didn‘t remember the subplot about Asil and black witches.

not badly written and the plot does sound interesting, but I have zero interest in continuing. DNF!

Bonus points for prehistoric animals.

I read the paperback for the first time in September 2016 according to my records. I can‘t believe that I never re-read this, that can‘t be right…
