Part 4, The Unraveling! Aha! Now we are getting somewhere. Revelations!

- A Porcelain Soul 🪆🪆🪆🪆🪆, Bitsy, a doll maker. Pretty creepy. This veers from fairytale into horror. Tragic.

Read chapter 12. Going deep down, level 140, meeting Juliette.

- Lost Things ☠️☠️☠️☠️☆, Jessamyn, the Robber Bridegroom, some closure for previous stories.
- A Good Husband 🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️🧜‍♀️, a lake-dwelling spirit has to grant a wish. Reminded me of Greenteeth.

Short chapters! Read chapter 5. Depressing!

Chapter 1 read. Mercenary and spy Jarlaxle meets the Queen‘s daughter Triel. Conspiracy and spy-craft.

Pologue and the first two chapters. Dana travels back in time to a slave plantation in 1815. She meets a boy in danger. And then she is in danger herself, as a black woman without papers. In between she jumps back to her present time in California and her husband Kevin, where they try to figure out how she can come home to him safely by her own will, if her jumps should continue.

PS: I haven‘t read the novel.

- The Story of Ink 🫟🫟🫟½☆, Jessamyn and Livilla. This one is connecting some dots.

- Ash 🔥🔥🔥🔥☆, Blodwen and Gwenllian, wicked story.

- The Angel Wood 🌳🌲🌴½☆, Henri, Agnes, commitment, giving life.

- The Navigator 🪽🪽🪽🪽🪽, Windeyer I liked a lot more than Dibblespin. Both equally tragic, but the ocean setting was more my thing.

- Dibblespin 🐺🐺☆☆☆, hm, this was weird, not sure what to make of it.

- Gallowberries ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, Patience, Wynne Sykes, Dowsabel. Lovely story. A novel‘s worth in a few pages.
- Little Radish 🫜🫜🫜½☆, Rapunzel. What a bizarre story.

- Gallowberries ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, Patience, Wynne Sykes, Dowsabel. Lovely story. A novel‘s worth in a few pages.

Finally continuing with the 2nd part, SOURDOUGH AND OTHER STORIES, written and published first.

- The Shadow Tree ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, Ella again from The Maiden in the Ice, deviously

24. Like Stars Daring To Shine – Somto Ihezue ☀️☀️☀️☀️☆— life after an apocalyptic volcanic eruption.

22. If the Martians Have Magic – P. Djèlí Clark 👽👽👽👽👽— alternate history, War of the Worlds in the past, Martians among us, magic and a voodoo priestess. Good stuff.

21. Deep in the Gardener’s Barrow – Tobi Ogundiran 🌳🌲🌳🌲☆— this made me think of Tolkien and dark German fairytales. Nice.

19. Barefoot and Midnight – Sheree Renée Thomas 🪾🪾🪾☆☆— Memphis, former slaves, a burning and an unholy rage. Upsetting. It was ok.
20. The Mercy of the Sandsea – Tendai Huchu 🤖🤖🤖🤖☆— Inspired by south-east Africa (best guess), SF on a different world (?), an enhanced ex-soldier, a sandsea, a chase and fight for survival. Unforgivable sin.

18. A Soul of Small Places – Mame Bougouma Diene and Woppa Diallo 🧞‍♂️🧞‍♂️🧞‍♂️🧞‍♂️🧞‍♂️— a very well-told story. Senegal, the dangers of being a girl and the cost of fighting back.

17. An Arc of Electric Skin – Wole Talabi ⚡️⚡️⚡️☆☆— not for me, didn‘t connect with this electrically charged avenger.

16. The Travelling Man – Radha Opubor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, oh wow, what a sad and beautiful story! Eni is loosing her memory…

Not sure if I can deal with this mess till the end.

Well, this is a weird book. What on Earth is going on?

Astronaut? I am so confused.

I‘ve hit the reveal about Christian Two Bulls around the 5-hour mark of the book. I was so confused when this happened, it took a moment for me to catch up.

Spells for Coming Forth by Daylight ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, Nel is on the hunt for revenge. Excellent continuation of the previous story.

- By the Weeping Gate ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, Dalita and her daughters, Breakwater. House of the Rising Sun by a different name. Plain Nel and an arranged wedding. Creepy and excellent.

The Bitterwood Bible 📖📖📖📖☆, Murciana, a little thief, finds her place.
Terrible As An Army With Banners 📖📖📖📖☆, Goda, a siege and might this be the Erl-King in disguise?

- St Dymphna’s School for Poison Girls St Dymphna’s School for Poison Girls 🪾🪾🪾🪾☆, Mercia again and the Erl-King. About murder and how to be a better killer.
