it was gripping at the start and i was looking forward to not knowing who she'd end up with, but now it's glaringly obvious one is a huge red flag and the other is way better.

this is going amazing so far! small town romances haven't really been my thing but this one has allll the cozy vibes i was looking for. summer and rhett are so magnetic (like me and reading this over doing my heaps of work), and i love how things have been developing so far. such a fast-paced, easy read <3

this third act is SO bad i almost DNFed the book. i still might, im undecided.

like genuinely there is NO WAY the mmc can redeem himself and the only reason im not going crazy over this is because i never cared about this relationship that much in the first place! so idk what is worse: a horrible unredeemable conflict or a couple you didn't care about to begin with 😨

WHEWWWWW WELL this is definitely serving the (very spicy) romance i needed after some very boring studying...

i will say 100% honestly that i did not have high hopes at the start bc
1) i do not like murder (sorry i somehow didn't expect dead body in the first chapter)
2) the mmc was weirdly uptight (saying fmc has girly footsteps ??? + referring to her as a female)

but 180 twist and turn wow this is crazy good now

it has been FAR TOO LONG but i am literally forcing myself to sleep right now so i can have a good day tomorrow.

my love for this book grows as the story continues, and im seriously so glad i decided to pick it up. such a thick book but so so worth it. amazing

i am serious when i say every time i pick this up i am stunned by how WELL WRITTEN this love story is 😭 i try to be objective but i know i never can with this book because of how special it is to me.

but for real rachel reid is such a master of her craft (smut heavy books that not only have smut scenes that are unique, but 1000% incorporated into the love story too) and i adore her for it.

i think what i love most about this is how well written everything is. ive appreciated all the perspectives coco mellors has incorporated thus far, and im obsessed with each character’s utterly unique and interesting voice.

i also love how whenever i think it’s going well, something happens and im hit with that uneasy feeling in my stomach, and that’s how i know im still reading cleopatra & frankenstein.

started this on a whim just now when i was finding something to borrow from libby and this was the first book to come to mind.

and considering i got over halfway through on a day where i should be studying, it is safe to say i am absolutely LOVING this.

the deal has such a unique story and everything is so well executed that i know it’s going to become a new favourite. and i can’t wait.

she makes them just the right amount of insufferable; right when im abt to write them off as terrible people she comes in w the character backstories, and the realisation that they each have that utterly human experience of living a difficult life, no matter how different, makes me understand (n forgive, to a certain extent) them that much more

i honestly wish there were more hours in a day just so i could sit and read this forever.

it's an absolutely comforting reread though i've been super on edge recently with my new commitments. i hope i get more time to continue this soon ;-;

i feel like i'm not that suitable for listening to romance books because the parts i typically swoon over while reading feel weird when read aloud; like not as intimate.

still, im enjoying this one! it's more than what i expected, and the conflict resolution so far has been literally god-tier. excited to see where it goes <3

started this today and really enjoying it so far. i find myself rather intrigued not only by the ocean but also both miri's and leah's various analogies to their situations. while there are some parts i don't fully understand, it is coherent as a whole and a pleasant, if not tearful, reading experience.

literally binged a third of this book in my first sitting because it's so good BYEEEE wow ik i said i would take a break from romance but how could i resist (hmm sounds like evan and genevieve😫)

tbh i understand why people would say this is toxic etc but WHATEVER let's move on from happy romances and get to the specific childhood emotional baggage romances!!

i can't believe i haven't updated my progress on this masterpiece of a book but i just finished the first part and it's just so good. i really have no words to describe it all but this was a fantasy escape i needed. im so invested in ALL the characters (y'all know how much i love a large cast) and the lore you guys the LORE. no words are wasted as samantha shannon's descriptions are concise and colourful at once.

i love this tv series so much wtf. idk how i'm gonna make it through the wait bc the series is still ongoing so i decided to buy the novel (my first thai translation!) bc lots of people LOVED it and say they're excited to see the storyline play out irl.

the book is really rather long with 695 pages in the ebook but i can handle it. i can literally see netjames' uea and king in the book dialogue, it's so good ;-;

been listening to this while working out and it's pretty good so far. it's a (currently) slow-paced cozy mystery, though i thought cozy = no murder and there's murder in here; nonetheless the small town + culture vibes are strong and warm.

some parts may feel a bit repetitive, but the audiobook narration is really good and making me enjoy it a lot more. love the message of following one's dreams too!

just finished 'under one roof' and AHHHH oh my god i've missed ali hazelwood so much. the couples/ dynamics/ characters she writes just speak to me so much, i see myself in them and love them dearly. while i wished the ending was longer, im still excited for the other stories & the extra chapter!!!!

still enjoying this and especially warming up to the thrilling journey they're embarking on to settle the issue. vegas sure is exciting XP

the second chance romance development is going alright so far too, though not fantastic. however there have been parts where i laughed out loud, so this fulfils the promise of a romcom

it's going okayyyy so far i don't mind a good plot driven romance but i think it's good to choose one focus for a portion rather than combine them together~

i'd been nervous to start this knowing what shane and ilya have to go through here wouldn't be easy to read. but i'm so glad i came across reviews of heated rivalry where they loved the sequel, as that ultimately convinced me to read this immediately.

and now, no regrets at all. reading about their journey is really rewiring my brain as a queer person. it means a lot to me, in a lot of ways.

and that said... the stolen heir is the first book i've read in a long time that made me forget i was reading. i feel so thoroughly immersed and i love wren so much. quoting emily, i never want this to end.

finally got the chance to really sit down with this today! will continue doing bedside reading until i get tired; i love how it's going so far 😭 as expected, holly black has surprised me with the contents of this story and it's better than i could have ever imagined <3

my progress is slow, as ever, but i swear this is going great!!!! i have taken such a liking to suren and now oak, and i am so very excited to see my beloved high king and queen again ㅠㅠ
