Why is there a two-page treatise on deer in the middle of this book. There's a good mystery here, but the telling of it is meandering

The fact that the romance in this isn't sapphic is a crime against the story and the characters

Wtf is this "I'm not like other girls" nonsense? I've put up with the terrible pronunciations in the audiobooks, and the excessively weird overuse of slang in the wrong moments, but having the main character outright say she doesn't have female friends because girls are too touchy and easy to offend is the last straw. I'm done with these books.

This story is wild

Little disappointed at the reveal. I was really enjoying the story until the interlude. My hatred of ai has tainted my enjoyment of this story now

Did this man just "add points" to this woman sexually because she is not missing teeth? Ew! That's the third strike, I don't need to go any further on a romance where the love interest is a child psychologist who thinks more kids just need a good "belt to ass moment", calls sexually forward women hos, and rates the parents of his students as sex partners within minutes of meeting them.
Ew!

This story took too long to start getting interesting. I'm into it now, but 40% is a lot of story to slog through

This is slow going. I keep upping the speed on the audiobook

Yikes. The only thing redeeming this book right now is the male lead, and he has not been around nearly enough so far

Yikes. The audio narrator is leaving weird pauses in the middle of sentences and the writing comes across like two grown adults getting horny over memories of 17yo kids. This second chance romance refresh should have stayed in the past.

I hate when authors do that thing where their character alludes to some big secret or controversy from their past, but keep it from the reader for some imagined pay off later in the story. 4 times so far we've referenced the "terrible thing" that mom did to put them in need of a magic school. Just tell me what it is. I guarantee the surprise isn't going to be worth the wait

This audiobook would have benefited from multiple narrators. It feels like a run on sentence.

I really wanted to like this book. I thought from the opening that I was going to, but I'm bored and I just don't want to read it anymore

This does not feel cozy. The focus on her creepy boyfriend and his controlling nature is coming across way more like I'm reading a true crime story than a cozy magical murder series.

This book is like reading It's A Wonderful Life. The vibes are impeccable.
