Thought provoking chapters here midway through. I’ve decided that what frustrates me about this book is really the title. Tonight while reading the introduction to the NT Wright Ephesians book I hit upon a better title for Wolfmeuller’s book:
“Forgotten Themes of Western Christianity” or maybe “What Western Churches Marginalize”
This erases both Failure and American which isn’t supported in the book.

Yay! Another Tessa Afshar book.
This one is Queen Esther focused.

I just can’t finish this. It’s really an in-depth magazine article that was heavily padded to make into a book. I am interested in the scientific fraud, but those portions get overshadowed by the overly chatty conversations about non-relevant things such as the kind of pottery sitting on the desk of one person, or the number of horses another person owns.

They are only just now getting to the castle. I don’t think they will complete this adventure within the pages remaining.

Brown is exploring the concepts from a very pop culture perspective. He doesn’t appear to know about structured water or human cells as conductors or antennae.

Will asked me to read this. He read it last year. We are going to have a book club discussion 😄

Good discussion of delighting in scripture, but what made me LOL was this quote -

I accidentally put this book on hold at the library when I was trying to reserve The Secret Book Society. So far it’s not bad.
