Sixteen chapters in and my thoughts of this book are: “yes and no.”
Idk what it is but whenever it’s Lenna’s POV, it’s a no. But when it’s Hope’s POV, it’s a yes.

Lenna is annoying. Hope a lot less so.
But yeah. My thoughts are: yes and no. Yes but no.

Lenna’s petulance and anti-monarchy act is already getting old. Like either cause a rebellion or get in line. You can’t sit there and say “f the monarchy” while you conform to it with no plans to revolt from the inside.
She’s twenty-five btw and her father just called her a teenager so… which is it? Father is ruler and dad. You can’t be surprised that he disciplines you, dumb ass.

Did her father leave the room at some point? Why would a “royal” let their HEIR speak to someone as Lenna spoke to Jake?
Like I know she “marches to her own beat” but still — royals tend to keep up appearances.

Wth was that?

If Lenna ACTUALLY wanted to do some good for the peasants, she would be doing some Robin Hood shit to help them rather than sit and bitch about it every time it’s her POV.

I don’t like how easily Lenna and Ayla bought Cairan’s story.
It feels like there’s so much going on but nothing at all.

First impression of Ayla: kiss-ass.
