Maybe I shouldn’t be reading this book as my kids are teens and I’m looking at the years to come and can’t imagine them not here. Or maybe I should and I can glean wisdom on keeping them close as the go on in life. But in any case, this book is full of life. The beauty. The pain. The grief. The land that shapes us. The land we shape. And how we all fit together. It’s beautifully written.

I’m not far into this book but I can tell you -
If you love hearing stories from grandparents of how time, place, and people sculpted and shaped them, you will love this book. From the beautiful reflections of looking back on a life lived and loved to the power and impact of grief and sorrow in a lifetime this book paints a picture with elements so relatable, even if it’s a totally different life we lived.
