You know that feeling when you're 1/8th of the way through a book and you have no idea what it's about or what's going on, and have no connection to any of the characters...

I'm not finding a lot of time to sit down and read at the moment, but this one has definitely picked up. After a shaky first 50 pages, I'm not totally invested and can't wait to finish.

My next paper read. I LOVE the Expanse, so I'm hoping for big things from this one, too. :D

To be fair, the Expanse is 9 books long. This one is just getting started. It's definitely not as immediately accessible.

Really? I don't think I ever struggled with the Expanse personally.

Martin Wakefield I kinda did, since the only character that really gripped in me leviathan wakes was Miller and they kill him off at the end while everyone else felt a little generic or underdeveloped

Stephen Richter Loved that book. The best book I read last year,

Ahh, to be honest, I think my own experience is coloured by the fact I watched the show first. I went in to the books with connections to characters already established.

It's definitely picking up. 150 pages in now and I'm enjoying it a lot more.

It's definitely starting to get that way. 150 pages in and I'm liking it a lot more. Just wish I could find time to read more.
