I want to like Coates writing, but now that I bought this instead of trying to find it at a library, I'm super disappointed. I read samples of some of the stories in here and I was interested, but more often than not, the middles and endings fall short, and I really feel suspense or fear. She had interesting monsters, interesting plots, but the writing isn't reaching me in the way I had hoped. I'll finish it, and may

Enjoyed the Dead Call story. One thing I do like is how many stories there are. Most are very short, but there are some good ones. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have bought it. I'd rather have some other book.
