"A life without books is a life not loved, Dior. There's a magic like no other to be found in them. To open a book is to open a door--to another place, another time, another mind." -Gabriel De Leon 📚✨♥️

Gabriel's response to Dior about books has me cackling. Absolutely love what he says towards the end of their little conversation too.
"The right book is worth a hundred blades." Gabriel is a bookworm? Who would've guessed it.

So far Gabriel views Dior like his own daughter. Which is nice, but it seems like Gabriel is turning into a psychopath. Which I mean is understandable with what he's been through. You can just tell he's mentally not well. I feel like there is some foreshadowing going on about their relationship and how it will end up. He almost seems like he worships Dior like a God.

Wow. So Jean is exactly the type of character I thought he would be thus far. Also, a lot of 🥵🌶️ things happening the first few pages.
Also, the shaving scene and Gabriel comments 😳 that conversation had me questioning things. 😂🥵😅

As suspected from the last book, when Gabriel revealed (spoiler‼️ you haven't read the first book), how his daughter died Jean was very upset. When reminding us who these characters are. Like Patience he tells us, "Know no shame gentle reader. I also cried." Showing us Jean might be a vampire, but isn't the monster Gabriel thinks him to be.

is starting
Unlike how the first book started, with an outside narrative then Gabriel's narrative telling his story. We have Jean the historic vampire (whose responsibility is recording Gabriel's story), being our narrator. Referring to us as the readers. He goes on to list all the characters from the previous book, reminding us who they are, before continuing on what is happening now.
