I have noticed concerning trends in this series that I have just started to be aware of. The fixation on young children being treated as “adults” and manipulated and “imprinted” upon is deeply disturbing. Most of the main characters and side characters have endured sexual abuse and manipulation as children and are being used politically as a means to an end. To what end is unclear. Herbert is a pervert.

Well, that was the most intense, captivating chapter of this series yet! I loved the call back to the original book as we find Sietch Tabr! I have missed connections with what originally made me want to read this series. That being said, it ended in a most “Frank Herbert” fashion in that I have no idea what it all means! A huge buildup for more philosophical mumbo jumbo. Thanks man.

Dune is so back! Well, Rakis. We have met young Sheeana and she seems to be able to control the worms. I’m so glad to have the worms back. I always felt like they didn’t get enough attention in the beginning books, I’m excited to see where this goes. Young Duncan is in the wings. Poor guy can’t catch a break. We shall see where this road shall take him this time.
