Okay so June is an asshole - and I love it.
This book did end up having a plot rather than being more literary fiction based but I'm not mad about it, I think it actually works in its favour.
It is the first book in a long while to make me actually want to read it, so suffice to say it got me out of a pretty large reading slump and I'm grateful to it for that.
Also yellowface is bad, obviously. Don't do that.

So far, it's really refreshing to have a book that makes you want to keep picking it up and reading it.
It has also made me think about re-establishing what counts as a 3-star-read, so far it is heading that direction but with the other contenders in that broad category it feels out of place, almost like I'm insulting it.
So I'm going to reformat, just for this novel. It's simple - and good!

Saw this in the library and thought - Why not?
It has the type of fame to let me know about it and the type of simple comtemporary language that will hopefully get me out of this reading slump so I figure, why not.
I hope it's very literary fiction based - Something along the lines of Sylvia Plath's Bell Jar would do me really well right now. I think I'm just itching for something manic that a women would write.
