Here it is again: Sirach 41:15 Better is the man who hides his folly than the man who hides his wisdom.

Better is he that hides his folly, than the man that hides his wisdom.

A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter:
he that has found one has found a treasure.
There is nothing so precious as a faithful friend,
and no scales can measure his excellence.
A faithful friend is an elixir of life;
and those who fear the Lord will find him.

Though I've read thru the whole Bible at least three times I can remember and heard most of it endless times at Mass, this time the Book of Wisdom hit me so much more powerfully than ever before. Most Catholics (me included) are familiar w/the first verses of Ch. 3, as they are a popular reading for funerals. But the entire rest of the book is a TREASURE! Now on to Sirach which I already love!

Wisdom 5.1 Then the righteous man will stand with great confidence in the presence of those who have afflicted him and those who make light of his labors. When they see him, they will be shaken with dreadful fear, and they will be amazed at his unexpected salvation. ... They will groan and say, "This is the man whom we once held in derision and made a byword of reproach-we fools!" So far, my favorite book here.

Finished Proverbs, starting Ecclesiastes.

I finished the Book of Job. What an amazing book! This should be my prayer from now on. Holy Spirit, help me pray this!

“Behold, I am of small account; what shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth. I have spoken once, and I will not answer; twice, but I will proceed no further.” Job 40:4-6
