One complaint I have of this author is that her books start in her present time, then she reflects on the past. I always feel like I'm getting an epilogue instead of a prologue

It's a slow beginning, but the pacing is picking up. I feel bad about comments on her "Mammy". The annoying woman was shot by highwaymen. So that's one way to stop her irrating chatter. 😉
