very interesting to see how ancient history influenced later history which has influenced our modern history—through ways of thinking. obviously, that’s a basic concept, but i’m still astonished to trace the development of concepts we think are “unique” to our era.

always happy to read cs lewis. one chapter in, and i’m very intrigued by the way he’s traced the inspiration for the literature and beliefs of the medieval times and middle ages.
