issue #38 was good! we never did reach anything resembling the best this book had to offer once doug and bill left. at the very least it wasn't actively bad. a cool end to this arc, even if the villain's identity was pretty obvious. cover rocks too. i wonder how far in advance they knew this book would be ending? the writing was on the wall with doug and bill's departure, but i wonder when they knew for sure.

#37. the penultimate issue! this was really good, and unfortunately still relevant. interested to see how this wraps up, but i think this arc exploring marc's past is a great way to wrap up this series. also bill!!! i loved his crawley story, very well drawn.

#36 is fun. a really good dr strange story, he's one of those guys that I love to see just pop up in someone else's book. the fact that moon knight STILL has a hard time believing in the supernatural is befuddling. like dude you have witnessed actual miracles. you fight werewolves. currently you are teaming up with an actual wizard like be so fr dude. i miss doug and bill

#35 is a fun crossover, any time i get to see my beloved fantastic four (and nightcrawler at that!) is a win in my book. not mind blowing but undoubtedly entertaining

#34 is a really good gena issue but a so-so moon knight issue if you ask me. this is also the first book after doug moench left, so that came with a stark change in style both in terms of literature and art. i will miss the old creative team but this wasn't bad so I can stomach it for the last few issues. i didn't care for the scorekeeper extra but it served as a legible coda to the main tale at the very least.

#32 got into a lot of my problems with the previous issue, especially relating to moonie's treatment of dough row and the civilian response to the gang problem and folks it rules. also kevin nowlan locked in this time. he's no sienkiewicz but he'll do. honestly this one goes hard, kind of a banger. ALSO the extra story??? heartbreaking. really really good.

#31. oh dear. it would seem kevin nowlan does not have the sauce. or if he does he didn't bring it. i miss bill. doug is still here though (for now) and delivers a compelling character piece with an interesting examination of gang violence. detracting from this issue is the bonus story at the end, which is actively bad and reminds me of the worst kind of generic '60s hero comics. all told, issue 31 is ok

#30. we have come so far from those original werewolf by night issues. this is bill sienkiewicz's final issue of moon knight (in this run) and it really does feel like a climax in that regard. this issue is a total skill showcase for the guy, with some of his best panels yet, and his style fully developed from his more standard work at this run's start. that final page more in line with his later surrealist era! gold

#29 sees the return of werewolf by night which RULES. way cool, stunning work from sienkiewicz (as always) and even the bonus story was pretty good this time. solid ish all around.

issue 28 is flowery even by Moench's standards lol but bill is having a great time! good issue but man this book is really going out of its way to get marlene in her underwear huh
