Vance is getting gaslit left and right, but hardest and most prevalent is by himself. He says perfectly reasonable things and feels like he's being cruel. He refuses to go back in the closet, and when he sets that healthy boundary IN THE BEGINNING that keeps getting trampled on, he feel like he's being too strict. No wonder this book is under 4 stars.
