Enjoying this book much more than I expected to. I thought a celebrity story might be less well written or less honest, but Green and his co-writer do a very nice job with some of the narrative passages, bringing out details of sound and taste. They also draw nuanced characterizations of his parents, without pulling punches about the systemic racism underlying the sharecropping poverty of Green's youth.
