This book contains a very funny juxtaposition where half of it is the characters dealing with racism in the time period (I forget when it is) and this is handled with the weight it deserves and the other half is the characters wandering into lovecraftian situations beyond comprehension and they are constantly just rolling with it. Hardly any hesitation in confronting the supernatural.
