Their plan goes wrong when the manager, who’s the only one w access to the safety dep boxes, isn’t there. In a panic the security guard gets shot in the arm, there’s even a kid in there.
Nora texts her sister Lee their SOS codeword, Lee heads to the bank immediately.

Lee shows up w megaphone lol she tells the robbers that the phone in there is gonna ring in a few seconds, if they’re smart they’ll answer so they can get out of this mess she says.

We learn Lee is 20 years older than Nora, they have different dads. They didn’t meet each other until Nora was 6.
Their mom lived a pretty good lifestyle w Lee’s dad but he died, afterward she began conning to keep up w the lifestyle. Lee got away from the mom pretty early on, only going back to meet Nora.
Lee formed a plan to get Nora away from their mom & 6 years later when Nora was 12 she went w Lee.

The little girl in the bank is the managers daughter…Nora tells her to lie abt her name & say she’s her cousin so the robbers don’t find out & use her as leverage to get to the manager.

When Nora was still w her mom, Abby, she would involve Nora in her scams. She would choose a target- rich men. Both would lie abt their identity, use disguises, live completely fake lives until the jig is up & they gotta skip down, repeating the process over & over until Lee finally got Nora out of there.

We find out Nora & Wes broke up cause he found out she was lying abt pretty much everything abt her identity. (Rightfully so)
Lee & Nora aren’t the girls real names. Lee changed their names & cut/dyed their hair from blonde to brown when she got Nora away from their mom.

Nora decides to sneak up into the ceiling & go into the managers office. The robbers are looking for a key to get into the deposit boxes in the basement, Nora thinks helping them get what they want will give them an advantage.
She unlocks the door & leaves a sticky note saying “Your welcome”. The robbers come in & ask who did it- Nora raises her hand smiling lol she took the keys & hid them in her bra.
The robbers barricaded the front entrance so the only way out is the basement- needs the keys for that.

Past: the first con Abby, Nora’s mom, made her participate in was to get money out of a widow. Abby made Nora pretend her name was Samantha. They got close to the target, Abby convinced her to start a knitting store w her, scamming her out of a bunch of money.

The Butcher aka Raymond - Nora’s stepdad who she helped put in prison. Abby met him when Nora was 10, fell in love, married him 6 months later. He became physically abusive w both of them, Abby never doing anything abt it, never protecting Nora.

Present- Nora (real name Ashley) tells the robber that her father is The Butcher. Robber did some time in jail so he knows him, tells her that he put a hit on her, wants her brought to him alive. Nora has quite the reputation herself for what she did to put him in jail- she uses that to her advantage to impress the robber, manipulating him.

Robbers- Gray cap: smart one. Red cap: stupid one.

Past: another target Abby went for was a Pastor named Elijah. Her tactic was to go for men already committing crimes so they wouldn’t be able to go to police when she scammed them.
This time Ashley/Nora pretended to be Haley. Her target was Elijah’s son- a little shit who bullied other kids. Abby had to endure the bullying so she could get closer to Elijah…the kid, Jamison, would literally hit her, make her bleed. Abby just made her deal w it so she’d seem like an angel to Elijah- the perfect stepdaughter.
Eventually they rob his safe & sneak off during a church event. Nora makes sure she punches Jamison in the face before leaving 🤗

Present: nora convinces Gray Cap to try trading a hostage for welding gear to get into the safety dep boxes. Suprisingly he listens, calls Lee asking to do the trade. Nora just wants to get the little girl out before the Robbers realize she’s the managers kid.

After Casey’s gone, we find out Raymond has a 7million dollar hit on Nora, he adds to it every year on her bday…
He’s infamously known for chopping off his victims hands & fingers, then feeding them to alligators !

2 months prior- Iris finds out that Wes pretty much lives w Nora, he even has his own room there. His dad is super abusive to him, he has scars all over his body from it…
Nora doesn’t fully explain everything to Iris but they both understand that she’s protecting Wes.

Past- Wes & Nora started out as friends, became best friends over the years & eventually lovers. When Nora caught on to the abuse from his dad, she did what she could to protect him- try keeping him away from his dad & at her place as much as she could.
One day he didn’t come over like he was supposed to so she got worried, went to his house where she found him lying in his own blood in the bathroom, he needs stitches & has bruises all over. She tends to his wounds- takes 2 months to heal & he’s left w scars- his dad beat him w a fireplace poker…
Nora gets a bunch of dirt on the mayor, finds out abt an affair he’s having w a married woman, gets photo evidence & blackmails him into stop abusing his own son- sf sad.

Present- gray Cap realized Casey was the managers daughter, he comes into the room they’re all in & backhands Nora! Drags her out, locking iris & wes in there.
Nora keeps her composure, we know now that red caps plan is to bring her to Raymond for the 7mil. To get her to cooperate he threaten iris, tells her it’s very obvious her & wes are both trying to protect her. Once he mentions Iris- Nora stabs him w the scissors she’s been hiding!
Red Cap runs in, slips up & says Gray Caps name- Duane! Red Cap wants to shoot her w his shotgun but Duane says not to, takes the gun from him.
Red cap goes back into the basement to work on the boxes, leaving Nora alone w Duane & the gun. He ends up passing out from all the blood he lost, now Nora has the advantage.

Past: Nora was molested by one of the men they conned when she was only 10…he tried grooming her but that didn’t work & when he did try touching her- she stabbed his ass w a knitting needle in the leg!
She leaves after, goes to a pay phone to call Lee. She hangs up tho, doesn’t want to ruin lees life by putting so much responsibility on her, feels like a burden.
She goes back to the house…finds her mom casually cleaning up the blood- tells her they gotta get rid of the body now!

Past: Nora is 12, Lee rescued her, they’re in a hotel room. Feds show up, Lee is working w one- they have a deal that Lee gives them hard drives w evidence incriminating Raymond & their mom in exchange for Nora to be completely left out of the case- no mention of either of them, no witness protection.
The agent is giving Lee a hard time cause they didn’t go along w her plan, she thinks Nora is dangerous bc of what she had to do to escape…
They reach an agreement, Lee signs a contract agreeing that they’ll be left out of everything. Lee gives the agent all the hard drives- she doesn’t know that Nora has one hidden in the bathroom tho…
