Reminds me of an episode of RL Stine's The Haunting Hour. A slightly more grown-up Goosebumps story, basically. Content and language is definitely for older kids but again... they characters feel so, so young, like middle grade. I'd have read this in middle school but my mom wouldn't have liked it lol

Torn on this so far. It's not terrible but it's very cheesy and I'm confused by it being middle grade or YA, as there's a lot of darkness to it but the characters are 11/12.
