Perhaps it’s beyond the scope of this book but I’m finding the dynamic between Laura and Isa very interesting. It’s like a conversation between two very different kinds of femininity, one who sees gain in playing into stereotypes and materialism and another who is still trying to figure themselves out beyond those expectations.
