Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes. I’d never felt so completely, utterly loved and accepted. It was as if every piece of my life had finally fallen into place, leading me to this perfect moment. Lying there in Lucy’s arms, I felt a sense of peace and belonging that I’d never experienced before.
Lucy murmured, almost too softly for me to hear. “You’re my forever.”

“How much time were you willing to give me?” I traced my fingers along her jaw, marveling at the softness of her skin.

No one ever made me feel this way. Like every part of me, even my foibles, were admired.

“For you,” Lucy breathed. “Only for you.” Her eyes conveyed a thousand emotions, and all of them went back to one simple fact. She loved me.

“I could stare at you all night. You’re so beautiful.”

“You love me?” She spoke barely above a whisper.
“Of course, I do... Because you’re the kindest and bravest person I know."
