i am deeply surprised by the unfolding of the events in the book, as it 1000% reads like an apocalypse and sounds like a Stephen King novel but without the zombies and the dying diseases. In fact reading this in 2025 (when this is happening) this feels like it could be something that’s happening at this moment, beyond the doors of what we think is safe. A bit unsettling but I will see this through
