"You were capable of imagining a different future. And maybe it won't be realized today, maybe norlt in our lifetime. Maybe it will take generations. We're all part of a continuum. Dos that make it pointless?"

"Goodbye, Maysilee Donner, who I loathed, then grudgingly respected, then loved. Not as a sweetheart or even a friend. A sister, I'd said. [...] A sister is someone you fight with and fight for. Tooth and nail."

"Looking at him, I can't help thinking that all the little ones seem to end up with me. Louella, Lou Lou, Ampert. I can't keep a one of them safe. Why do the flock to me?"

(And then, he'll spend the next 23 years trying and failing to save little kids from the Games... Haymitch's story is so tragic)

"I hold out my arms. Without a word, Wyatt and Maysilee join in a group embrace. Lou Lou wiggles into the center of the hug and we tighten our hold, feeling one another's pulses and sweat and skin. Ten minutes from now, who will even still have a heartbeat?"

He sighs when he mentions the tools that were abolished and incapacitated in the past, ones deemed fated to destroy humanity because of their ability to replicate any scenario using any person."

(Damn, Suzanne is not pulling any punches)

"You stay alive, play your songs, love your people, live the best life you can. And I'll be there in the Meadow waiting for you. It's a promise."

"Who's ready for a big, big, big day!"

"All the birds I've encountered are vicious. Bet I know a thing or two about your dove. She's delightful to look at, swishes around in bright colors, and sings like a mockingjay. Except sometimes you wonder, because her plans don't include you at all."

Lucy Gray's ghost never stopped haunting Snow...

Plutarch waves me over to a plant that hangs from a beam. [...] As I inhale the faintly sweet, faintly rotten smell, Plutarch points to one. "They put out a nectar. Insects adore it. But the surface is slippery, and they fall into the pod and can't get out. They drown and are consumed."

The foreshadowing of the Arena, just like Plutarch will do for Katniss in the future

"Well, Katniss, I just hope that when she goes, she goes quickly... She's actually a wonderful lady."

This line from the movie has so much meaning now, and the depth of Haymitch's trauma is way deeper than we thought.

"In fifty years, we've only had one victor, and that was a long time ago. A girl who no one seems to know anything about. [...] I brought our victor up with Lenore Dove a few times, but she never wanted to discuss her."
