Isaacson gives a detailed, dense account of Kissinger’s actions from birth until (at this point) his relationships with Rockefeller and Nixon. So far his personality (insecure, power hungry, resentful of his father’s pacifism) are all clear from others’ accounts of him. So are his skills for preparedness and clear thinking.
