The scenes are a lot more detailed and gruesome than I first expected them to be. The movie leaves a good amount to the imagination, and while a lot of the book definitely does too, it can be very detailed with its gore. Another thing is that the movie (though I don't interpret it this way) is sometimes seen as being in Patricks head. If reading the book I feel like it's a lot harder to interpret it in that way.

The writing switching from first person to third person mid sentence is very interesting. It makes a lot of sense with the scene though.

Patrick is getting more and more obviously manic. The way he acts in some parts feels like schizophrenia, like how he's thinking that there's a tracking device in his VCR
