Look, I like the story and all but Matty cannot be six in second grade and as precocious as he is. I'm taken out nearly every time his age is mentioned. Two years is different than two school years. Yes, I'm pedantic, but ugh, I hate being taken out of a story to do math.

I'm finding myself bored. I'll still finish it, probably, but I probably won't read book 2 (I'm only reading this because I liked book 3-- which I didn't know was a part of a series). The slow burn went too slowly IMO and I think softball season ended pretty late.
