what’s fascinating about this book so far is this subtle, implicit question: is june just a victim of an industry that’s set up to decide its winners based on facetious metrics, or is she fully to take responsibility for the jealousy and lack of guilt that allow her to do what she very consciously does? and yes, i think it’s both. i think they can co-exist. that’s very possible.
