Tantie Merle and the Farmhand 4200 by R.S.A. Garcia 4,5⭐
Took me a bit to get into this one and the goat eating the robot did stress me out, but the ending slapped! Loved this cozy take on AI that turned out quite revolutionary!

House of the Dragon and the Empress Who Tried to Rule England by Lizbeth Myles
An essay comparing the prequel show to GoT with the real history it was inspired by especially Empress Mathilda. Extremely interesting to me, would recommend if you liked the show. I still didn't watch it, but I really should now...

The Music of the Siphorophenes by C.L. Polk 5⭐
This is completely different than anything else I read by C.L. Polk so far and I loved it! This is sci-fi with a really interesting alien species involved. Won't say more, it's kind of sad, kind of hopeful, beautiful.
On to the non-fic now!
Book Bans Won't Take Away Our Voices by Del Sandeen
Nothing new under the sun, but a good take.

The Ghasts by Lavie Tidhar 4⭐
I quite liked this story about fighting with the monsters that live under our beds. I wasn't quite sure about the turn it was taking, but I did like the ending in the end. Still there seem to be some blank spots that I feel like needed answering.
Theses on the Scientific Management of Goetic Labour by Vajra Chandrasekera 4⭐

Anything with a Void at the Centre by Lee Mandelo
If you love Lee Mandelo's work don't miss out on this long short-story because that is some good stuff! The SFF elements are very minor, but the way Mandelo explores relationships, trauma and neurodiversity is just *sighs in bliss*. This story also contains a haunted porn theatre if that's an appeal...

SuperMAX by Daniel H. Wilson 4⭐
AI and prisons based on restorative justice. Also grieving for your child. Together with the interview it's a great food for thought combo.
Love at the Event Horizon by Natalia Theodoridou 4,5⭐
Queer love story, filmmaking and haunted generational ships. This story has quite interesting structure as well.
