The writing style is very much YA. The story is also repetitive and predictable, but nonetheless still good. It is wayyy better while reading with the audiobook. The voice actors give life to the book that feels very slow paced and dull at moments.

I still don’t know how I feel about the characters. I feel for the story, but it’s hard to connect to all of them. Idk it just feels like words on paper at times. However, that doesn’t mean I’m blind to the symbolism of the story and can’t connect with what is happening. I honestly think the story would be better from the perspective of the kids in the village as well. Idk
