I enjoy a good ghost story from time to time, and I love folktales so this is right up my alley. The stories can feel a little rushed but it’s not a long book and I appreciate the amount of stories they’ve fit in. The art is gorgeous and really is what makes this a book that I return to. 6/10

Sometimes I get so sucked into the story that I forget to look at the pictures lol. I love the art style so much!! I do sometimes wish the stories were a bit longer though.

Such beautiful art and stories. This book reminded me a little bit of Mushishi (one of my favorite series). Japan has such creative “ghost” stories. Rich folklore and culture gives way to haunting and lovely tales that I could reread over and over again.

Beautiful and Haunting
I thought these would just be ghost stories but they’re so much better than that! The two I read had themes of love and commitment that genuinely warmed my heart. I knew this would be something I would enjoy but I don’t think I realized just how much. The arts gorgeous, the stories are beautiful, and the author did a wonderful job honoring the stories and their deep heritage.
