I’m not usually a fan of long exposition, but it works well for this story. I’m enjoying getting to know all of the characters and I find the jump in perspectives on an hour by hour basis super cool. It’s definitely creepy but I wasn’t scared while I was reading the book UNTIL I went to sleep. I woke up with nightmares about this book and I’m not even in the main conflict yet 😀

This is a good book to channel all of my depression into. It picked up in the second half and I found myself reacting out loud which is rare. It feels nice to feel something because of a book and not life.

ayesha I’ve since learned that this is supposed to be a re-telling of sorts of Dracula. This is the fourth book I’ve read that is tied to Dracula and it’s almost insulting at this point that I haven’t picked it up.

ayesha Also I’m so glad my introduction to vampires isn’t through twilight but through actually good literature about it so my view isn’t completely tainted

Maria Keerthi Honestly next read should just be dracula so you can connect it back
