Their conviction of sulas evil actually changed the community in really positive ways. Both the sort of external evil makes for great unity when things are bad internally declare war on something external vibe. But also like teapots mamma becomes a good mother after sula “pushed” him. Also the wives love their husbands better cuz sula sleeps with them once and discards them
