Nulick is a master of prose and scene-setting. He also captures very well the tragedy of the inevitably decaying human relationship.

The supreme element of literature is thinking through why people do things. This book not only has some great prose but a non-judgemental view of how affluence can affect people alongside how shame around sex combined with social isolation can make people act a certain way that in this book isn't depicted as strange or immoral. Very cool.
