I confused this book with This is How You Lose the Time War. I like this one better. The pacing is odd and the plot reveals itself one layer at time. Not a mystery but in discovery, though there is something secret and suspicious about the timetravel project’s purpose and mission.

The cover is pretty. The concept of a time travel ministry made me thing this would be more sci-fi than it actually is. It’s pretty boring so far. I fall asleep after reading a few pages each time I pick it up. The main character is kind of bland as in I don’t know or understand her motives for being a bridge to Commander Gore or why she interacts with him the way that she does. Just going through the motions.
