Realizing the Ashkar are basically this world's version of the Jewish people and googling it to read an article Cassie wrote for the Jewish Book Council literally made me SOB. This is so beautiful. Very rarely do I read a story which resonates with me quite so much. I did not expect this book to be so meaningful.
